🌹 A Blooming Mystery – Can You Help Us?
If you’ve walked past the front of MGGS recently, you’ll no doubt have noticed the beautiful roses that line the main school building. They have been a much-loved feature of our grounds for many years, adding colour, charm, and a touch of tradition to the heart of our school.
But here’s the mystery… we don’t actually know when these roses were first planted, or by whom! Were they part of a grand planting day, a special donation, or just quietly added by green-fingered staff or students?
Sadly, a few of our roses have not withstood the test of time 🌦️🌿, and we will soon need to replace them. We’d love to replant with the same – or as close as possible – variety so that the heritage of our school grounds continues to flourish.
That’s where you come in, MGGS Alumni! 🌟
Do you remember when the roses first appeared outside the main building? Perhaps you have photographs of them in full bloom during your time at school? Any memories, snapshots, or stories would be so valuable in helping us preserve this part of MGGS history.
If you can help us solve this rosy riddle, please get in touch and share your pictures or recollections. Together, we can keep this tradition growing for future generations of students to enjoy.
💌 Send your memories and photos to mstarns@mggs.org or post on Facebook.
