A Chapter of Success: Year 7 Raise £2,730 in Spectacular Readathon

Our Year 7 Readathon took place throughout March, with winners announced on the final day of Term 4 – and what a fantastic success it was!

The Readathon is all about encouraging students to read more, discover new books, and develop a lifelong love of reading, while also raising funds to support the school. Students were sponsored by family and friends for the time they spent reading, combining learning with fundraising in a really meaningful way.

This year, our students truly rose to the challenge. With great enthusiasm and commitment, they logged their reading, shared their sponsorship links, and together raised an incredible £2,730. These funds will go towards enhancing resources in the English Department and contributing to a new laser cutter for the DT Department.

A huge congratulations goes to all of our winners, including our top fundraising student, Arabella I, and our leading forms 7S, 7N, 7A, and 7G, who performed exceptionally well across both fundraising and participation.

Most importantly, well done to every single student who took part. Your efforts have made a real difference, and it has been wonderful to see so many of you engaged in reading.

We hope this Readathon has inspired students to keep picking up a book, exploring new stories, and continuing their reading journey beyond the challenge.
