Food & Nutrition at MGGS

With some students working at home and some working in school, Year 7s have taken on the challenge of creating a traditional fruit crumble in their Food & Nutrition lessons. Students have learnt how to successfully master the ‘rubbing in’ technique.  They have also explored elements of food science such as how rubbing in is a shortening process which inhibits gluten from forming, thus giving a short, crumbly texture. With a range of fruit fillings, these crumbles were perfect for the not-so summery weather!
