Happy 100th Birthday to Margaret Amos, MGGS Teacher & Alumni

We are delighted to share with you just how special MGGS can be to our very own Margaret Amos!

Margaret, who will celebrate her 100th birthday on 2nd April this year, was a former student at MGGS from 1934-1942 and then returned to her beloved MGGS as Head of Chemistry.  Since then Margaret has been very connected to the school as part of the then Old Girls Society and can be seen pictured here at our 125th Anniversary celebrations enjoying a trip down memory lane.

Margaret has, however, kept a little secret safely in her home for years; a picture created by a former student of the beautiful woodland surrounding MGGS.  It is reported that Margaret has had the picture proudly displayed in her dining room for many years.  We wonder who painted it? (Please get in touch if you know.)  Margaret now wishes for MGGS to have the picture displayed back at MGGS.

Margaret’s Cousin advised us that she has so many former students around the UK and overseas who remain in touch with her and we are sure they will join us in wishing Margaret a very very happy 100th Birthday!
