For the fourth year running, the Diversity Ambassadors have put their enthusiasm and energy together towards a range of events to celebrate International Women’s Day at MGGS.

This year, the theme #GivetoGain is encouraging us to give time, opportunities, education, resources, equal access, role-models to girls and women to make gender equity happen in a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.  At MGGS, we foster and celebrate a community that is diverse, equitable and inclusive, where difference is valued and celebrated and we can all but agree with the aims of IWD2026!

In the last two weeks, the Diversity Ambassadors presented an assembly to all year groups from Y7 to Y13 on the women who have inspired them and, during registration time, students were given the opportunity to discuss the women – our mother, sister, grandmother, teacher, etc – who have positively influenced our lives and their lasting legacy.

Finally, on Monday, 9th we encouraged staff and students to wear a purple accessory to show their support for gender equality.
