Introducing LAMDA Speech and Drama Exams at MGGS

The Drama department is exploring the exciting possibility of offering LAMDA (London Academy of Dramatic Art) Speech and Drama exams—an opportunity that brings a wide range of benefits to students both in and beyond the classroom. These nationally recognised qualifications are designed to develop confidence, communication, and performance skills in a supportive, creative environment.

LAMDA exams encourage students to express themselves clearly, think independently, and present ideas with assurance—abilities that are invaluable for future interviews, university applications, and careers. Through practical work in acting, verse and prose and public speaking,  students gain experience in critical thinking, vocal and physical control, and emotional expression. The structured, progressive nature of the exams also allows learners to set personal goals, celebrate achievements, and build resilience.

Introducing LAMDA at MGGS would offer students a chance to:

  • Grow their artistic talents
  • Strengthen their self-belief and communication skills
  • Participate in an enriching programme recognised across the UK

A letter will be sent home via Edulink very soon and we look forward to gauging interest and hope to bring this rewarding opportunity to our school community in the near future.
