BOOK OF THE WEEK

A Series of Unfortunate Events #1: The Bad Beginning

Here’s what our students thought:

“A great book for people who like MILD horror and a big thrill. This series has about 12 books and each one is great. It’s about 3 orphans and they go to live with their 3rd cousin 4 times removed’ or are they.” By Harper M 7A

“Personally, I really enjoyed reading this book. It really pulled me in and I found myself not wanting to stop reading it. It definitely has a good concept of mystery, siblings and general excitement. I really like the way the author describes senses, emotions and as a reader I felt as if I really got to know each individual character well. The one thing I really enjoyed were the many plot twists. I definitely recommend this for year seven and upwards.”

“I adore this book by Lemony Snicket. I loved this book so much that I am going to read the whole series. I also really liked the story line, I found it very easy to continue reading. My favourite character was definitely violet. I would recommend this book for ages 12+ because there are a few scary parts.” By Amelie M 8A
