MEGA Day 1 – Thursday 2nd November 2023

On a bright and bustling day at MGGS, students embarked on an enriching educational journey during their much-anticipated MEGA Day. The day was designed to immerse pupils in a unique blend of learning, focusing on the critical pillars of MEGA: Mindset, Extension, Google, and Advanced Thinking.

Throughout the day, students were fully engaged in their regular lessons, but with a twist – a focus on MEGA. They delved into the depths of their subjects with an emphasis on self-improvement, developing valuable skills, and nurturing a positive mindset.

The MEGA Day emphasised the significance of fostering a growth mindset. Students were encouraged to approach challenges with resilience, viewing setbacks as opportunities for growth. Extension activities provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their learning journey and explore strategies for revision. This helped students extend their knowledge and skills, equipping them with the tools necessary for academic success, by engaging them in thoughtful self-assessment, where they gained insights into their strengths and areas for improvement.

Google tools were used throughout the day, helping students become more proficient in harnessing technology for learning. Students also learned how to use thinking frames to sort and process information effectively, enhancing their analytical and problem-solving skills. 

MEGA Day was not just about academic growth; it was about fostering the holistic development of each student. By nurturing a positive mindset, promoting self-reflection, and instilling the value of independence. 

During the day all pupils actively participated in completing their trackers, achieving a record-breaking number of submissions. The commitment and dedication displayed by the students was truly remarkable. As a token of appreciation for their hard work and diligence, all successful participants were rewarded with a positive achievement point.
