MEGA Day 3 – Thinking Maps Day
On Wednesday, 21st January, the school came together to celebrate MEGA Day 3, with a clear focus on Thinking Maps. Throughout the day, students from Year 7 to Year 13 created a Thinking Map in every lesson, embedding advanced thinking skills across the curriculum.
Classrooms were filled with creative and thoughtful work as students used a range of maps to organise ideas, make connections, and deepen their understanding of key topics. By the end of the day, many KS3 and KS4 students had produced up to five Thinking Maps, showcasing both their subject knowledge and their growing confidence with this powerful learning tool.
To conclude the day, students were invited to submit their best Thinking Map via their Year Group Google Classroom. A selection of impressive entries will be recognised, with prizes awarded in each year group.
MEGA Day 3 successfully raised the profile of Thinking Maps and highlighted their value in developing Advanced Thinking, one of the four core strands of the MEGA curriculum (Mindset, Enrichment, Google and Advanced Thinking). It was a productive and engaging day that demonstrated how shared approaches to learning can support progress across all subjects.
