MGGS Chamber Choir Soars with The Sixteen: A Choral Experience Like No Other!

MGGS’ Chamber Choir were lucky enough to be able to go to Fort Pitt Grammar School for Girls and meet Olivia from The Sixteen. The Sixteen is one of the world’s most renowned choral ensembles which provides both training in choral ensemble singing and conducting. During this workshop the Chamber Choir were able to sing in an ensemble, singing rounds and learning key musical terminology surrounding Choral music. 

It was an amazing opportunity where students were able to hear and sing with all four parts of a choir (Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass) whereas at school we are only able to sing in two parts (Soprano and Alto). Throughout this session we were also able to have an insight into choral singing after our time singing in the chamber choir, inspiring the members of the chamber choir to get involved in choral singing as a career later in life.
