New Designers Trip – Fashion & Textiles/Product Design
Inspiration at Every Turn: Year 10 and Year 12 Students Visit New Designers Exhibition in London
Last week, a group of our Year 10 GCSE Textiles and Product Design students, alongside Year 12 A-Level Product Design students, had the exciting opportunity to visit the New Designers Exhibition in London. A vibrant and inspiring showcase of innovation, creativity, and fresh talent from the UK’s best design graduates. Held annually, New Designers is a major event in the design calendar, bringing together emerging designers from across the country. From sustainable fashion to innovative product design and everything in between, the exhibition was a feast of ideas and imagination.
For many students, this was their first chance to experience a professional design exhibition, and the impact was immediate. They explored work by recent graduates from top universities, discovering how different materials, technologies, and creative processes are shaping the future of design.
The range of projects on display sparked plenty of inspiration. Year 10 Textiles students were particularly drawn to fashion pieces that used recycled materials and natural dyes, while Product Design students admired the functionality and problem-solving behind many of the prototypes on show.
We’re incredibly proud of how our students engaged with the exhibition and can’t wait to see where this experience takes them next. Watch this space for exciting projects in the months ahead!
