Olivia’s Success at the Aquatics GB Swimming Championships
Over the Easter break, Olivia competed in the Aquatics GB swimming championships which was also the Commonwealth Games qualifying event.
This is the most prestigious national event of the year as an open age group event, with the fastest qualifying standards of any national event.
She competed alongside Olympians and British record holders, qualifying for 3 events as a 14 year old, amongst the youngest to compete.
She held her nerve in such auspicious surroundings and qualified for 2 national junior finals, which is 18 & under. She swam a well paced race in the 200m breaststroke in a field of 18 year olds and came away with a convincing win by over 2 seconds. She also took 6th place in the 100 breaststroke final. Another great performance and excellent learning experience for Olivia. Well done Olivia!
