Product Design Spotlight

Year 7 Product Designers are putting their knowledge to the test, continuing with their practical work to create their own bespoke nightlight designs.  So far, students have selected a client to design and make for, they have researched their clients’ needs and wants and used that data to generate a range of design ideas.  

Students are currently developing their technique of soldering whilst utilising their working knowledge of electronic components.  Working out which component relates to which circuit symbol has already become second nature to them, meaning they can focus on getting high-quality soldering joints that will allow the electricity to flow around their circuits.  

Their next step will be learning how to work with polymers to create the stand for their circuit to be mounted to.  More updates to follow in a few weeks’ time!
