Waste Revolution: MGGS Plastic Free Schools Survey Unveils Key Findings and Green Initiatives Ahead!

Join the Plastic-Free School MovementDuring Term 2 we conducted a survey on the students’ opinions on waste around our school. We found that students thought there was most waste located in the canteen, the woodland walk and classrooms, in contrast to the circle garden which had the least waste. The greatest cause of waste, especially plastic waste, was the canteen packaging and the lack of bins distributed around the school.

Therefore, one of our aims is to review the number and distribution of general waste and recycling bins around the school. Another one of our aims is to address the waste generated by the canteen by directly contacting Cucina to discuss more sustainable options.

We hope this will improve the accessibility of waste disposal, reducing litter, as well as minimising the cause of waste, transforming our school into a greener environment.

If you have any suggestions on how we can further address this issue of waste within our school, please feel free to contact us.
