World Book Day Extravaganza: MGGS 2024 Celebrates with Reading Challenges, Costumes, and Literary Fun!

On Thursday 7th March we celebrated World Book Day! MGGS students were able to take part in many exciting and engaging events.

We ran the incredibly popular ‘Caught you Reading’ challenge throughout the school in which students were encouraged to read during their lunch and break time.  If they were caught reading they would be in for a chance to win a place on the forthcoming Harry Potter trip!  It was lovely to see so many students enjoying their books and discussing them with their friends.

We also saw some amazing costumes from both students and teachers alike!  Even for those not dressed up they were able to partake in our Guess the Teacher’ activities to win a copy of ‘Heartstopper 5’ signed by Alice Oseman.

The Big Read also gave students the opportunity to enjoy snippets of Shirley Jackson’s thrilling short story – ‘The Lottery.’  Each lesson began with five minutes reading as a whole class which made a welcome change of pace.

Hopefully, everyone enjoys spending their World Book Day Tokens and finding some more amazing reads!
