1st July 2023 2pm to 4pm 135th Open Afternoon

We would like to share with you some of the events that will be taking place on our Open Afternoon.

Bookings for the tunnel visits are going very quickly, so if you wish to book a tour of the tunnels you need to do so soon. You can do this here

Mary Smith will also be in school giving talks on the life of the school during the Second World War.  We will have on display, for the first time, other previously unseen paintings by Helen Keen, who famously recorded school life in the Second World War, together with a display of our school archives.

Our students will be available to provide tours of the school (if needed!) as well as participating in a series of performing arts showcases.  Afternoon tea will be available and our MGGS shop will be open (pre order your MGGS hoodie here to avoid disappointment).

Take the time to say goodbye to T block, visit the Woodland Garden and the Magnolia tree and see the newly refurbished Technology rooms as well as the plans for our new three storey building.

Mr Reid and Mr Doughery will be unveiling a new honours board to acknowledge staff who have given a long service to the school, while we will be thanking them for their many years of service to the school.

Do take the time to plan ahead with friends and family. Can you car share, come by public transport? We know this will be a very busy afternoon and so your help in reducing the number of vehicles on site will be appreciated.
