Inter House Netball – results coming soon!

After the torrential rain of the day before it was a relief when Tuesday 25th April dawned cold and bright.  House netball was good to go.

A round robin format was followed, with every House getting the chance to play each other.  First up where the exuberantly talented year 8’s.  The matches were fast, furious and very exciting. After 15 matches it was the Vikings who emerged victorious.  Year 7’s followed with the kind umpires helping and guiding those who were not quite so familiar with the rules. This tournament was eventually won by the Danes.

The third round saw the year 9’s fighting for House glory with the deciding match being edged by a single point with the Normans just sneaking past the Britons in the final match.

Lunch time saw a fun, fast and frantic sixth form tournament. With the mixed format there was an air of confusion from some of the players.  However, the matches  were still played in an excellent spirit.  The class of the Viking team ensured they were victorious, despite some of the games looking a little more like basketball!

The final round was a high quality contest between the year 10 House teams.  As always with year 10 energy levels were high but a dominant display saw the Saxons going undefeated to claim the year 10 crown.

With 4 different winners of the five tournaments the overall result was bound to be close and indeed it was.
